TEACHING PHYSICS

My belief about teaching guides the design of my courses.

That belief is that students learn best—and in the most enduring fashion—when the material is presented in an inquiry-based, constructivist manner that elicits prior beliefs, actively guides students in the correction of any misconceptions and works to apply the material to future learning or career  interests

It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble.  It’s what you know that just ain’t so!   - Mark Twain

I love to teach physics!  My area of research is physics education, so my research is fundamental to all of my work at Rockhurst University:  college coursework and projects, grant work, service learning work, physics teacher institutes, and advancement of new curriculum in the Physics of Medicine Minor.
